Multi-Colored Yarns

Collage of hearts, stars, a turtle, and a narwhal amigurumi crocheted with multi-colored variegated and marled yarns and couple of skeins of the yarn that was used.

Join me as we take a deep dive into all of my recent experiments crocheting amigurumi with multicolored yarns and multicolored yarn techniques! 🎨

In this video, I show off a bunch of different crochet projects and yarns while talking through the differences between variegated yarn, pre-marled yarn, and my favorite technique lately: holding multiple strands of yarn together to create my own custom marled color blends.

I share a couple of ocean animals I made with variegated blanket yarn, some hearts and stars made with different marled yarns and self-marling techniques, and my recently released free Marbled Star pattern! Along the way, I talk through some of the pros and cons of each approach — including color pooling, patchiness, texture, and the kinds of projects where each style works best.

This video is part show-and-tell, part color experiment, and part yarn ramble as we explore all kinds of colorful yarn combinations, finished objects, and future project ideas. ✨
