Woobles Pros & Cons (After Making 20 Kits!)

Basket of Woobles learn to crochet kit plushie handmade amigurumi finished objects

After making 20 Woobles Learn to Crochet kits, I’m sharing my high-level takeaways, pros & cons, and what’s next for me! 🧶 Whether you’re brand new to Woobles or have been following along with all my kits, this video breaks down what I love, what’s tricky, and my honest review — including some opinions that might be a little controversial for the crochet community. 😉

Full disclosure: This is not sponsored — these are just my personal experiences and opinions. Everyone’s experience may vary!

Here’s a quick snapshot of my main pros and cons. For the full breakdown of each point — plus my overall recommendation and what I’m planning next — watch the full video above! ✨

Pros

  1. All-in-One Kits – Everything you need comes in one kit, making it super easy to start.
  2. Tutorial Videos – Bite-sized, step-by-step instructional videos.
  3. Cuteness! – The characters are undeniably adorable.
  4. Collabs – Fun licensed collaborations and special characters, like Harry Potter, Sanrio, Bluey, and Minecraft.
  5. Easy-Peasy Yarn – Beginner-friendly yarn that’s easier to see and work with.
  6. Pre-Started Piece – You don’t have to figure out the hardest first step alone.
  7. Support – Multiple support options if you get stuck.
  8. Righty & Lefty – Tutorials available for both right- and left-handed crocheters.

Cons

  1. Price! – The kits are expensive compared to sourcing materials yourself.
  2. Missing Details – Some parts of the videos could use a bit more clarity.
  3. Hook Quality – The included crochet hooks and stitch markers aren’t always top-tier.
  4. Yarn (Again!) – That same yarn has quirks depending on your preferences.
  5. Egg Shapes – Not every character works great with the typical Woobles shape.
  6. Difficulty Levels – Time estimates and difficulty ratings could use some more nuance.
