Check out my simple and free online row and switch counter for crocheting and knitting here!
I was trying to figure out how best to keep track of my stitches while learning to crochet amigurumi, and I couldn’t find anything that perfectly fit my needs, so I ended up making my own lightweight online counter!
At least to start off with, I’ve been tracking every stitch I make, so I can double check that I’m doing the pattern correctly. And I also ideally want to track how many rows / rounds I’m on. I found an app that does this, but there are ads, and to reset the counter to 0 at the end of a row requires multiple clicks which was bugging me. 😅 I also found some websites out there that have versions of counters but many require creating an account or have designs that I felt were overly complicated. They also sell physical row counters which I considered buying, but I’d want more than 1, and it seems kind of onerous to have to press a physical button after every stitch — depending on the exact mechanism of the button.
So I decided to use my coding skills and make my own online stitch counter! 👩💻 It’s super lightweight, but it fits my exact needs, at least for now. I could see future extensions — for example where you could customize the number and titles of the counters, but I’m starting with just this. Maybe someone else out there will also find this useful!
